Fraud Field Investigator Senior

**Overview:**
Investigates multiple complex internal and external fraud cases within assigned region. Conducts interviews as appropriate. Properly documents investigative results and provides recommendations for next steps as appropriate. Ensures cases within assigned region are researched, documented and completed in accordance with departmental, regulatory and compliance standards.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Complete investigations within the Enterprise Security Investigations program, including ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance.
+ Serve as point of contact between Retail Banking, business partners and local, state and Federal authorities.
+ Deliver professional investigative results in complex, sensitive and high-risk incident situations.
+ Leverage internal and external resources in the completion of investigations as required.
+ Conduct informational and/or investigative interviews to obtain information to confirm facts and support investigative findings.
+ Ensure appropriate case management and integrity of case files and investigative data. Interpret investigative information and provide feedback and consultation to strengthen and improve business processes.
+ Deliver professionally written investigative reports incorporating all evidence required to support investigative findings and identify causal factors to facilitate post-incident reviews.
+ Attend branch meetings to educate retail management and supervision on the proper steps and disciplines to prevent, detect, and resolve theft and fraud at the branch level. Attend branch manager and operations meetings to educate managers and supervisors regarding safety issues and proper methods of preventing and detecting theft and fraud. Attend safety committee meetings to educate branch management and sales associates on promoting and maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers.
+ Keep higher management informed of known safety, theft and fraud concerns.
+ Represent the Company at criminal court proceedings and other legal hearings.
+ Maintain and promote the highest ethical standards and conduct.
+ Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
+ Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
+ Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience Required:**
+ Associate’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 4 years’ professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ professional experience
+ Basic understanding of basic evidence handling procedures
+ Understanding of computer hardware and operating systems
+ Capable of quickly learning new technical skills
+ Ability to travel to parts of the Bank footprint to carry out job duties
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Experience working independently and with a team
+ Excellent technical writing skills
+ Detail-oriented
**Education and Experience Preferred:**
+ Criminal Justice or Management degree
+ Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI) certification
**Physical Requirements:**
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
