Position Overview:

Love working outside? Love the water? Love boating?  

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club Marine Operations Center team, the Marine Lube Technician will travel to dock locations throughout the Tampa territory to perform oil changes and preventive maintenance on our fleet of vessels. This position is full-time and requires availability on weekdays.

Starting pay for this position: $15/hour

Essential Functions:

Drains oil from marine engines and replaces it to manufacturer specifications; cleans and replaces oil filters Identifies vessels requiring repair or maintenance through provided work orders and specifications Identifies when and what type of preventive maintenance is required for vessels; performs the maintenance, reporting any need for additional maintenance or repairs to manager Works in Fleetio and Reservation systems to complete logs, reports, or other documentation related to the installation, replacement, or modification of vessel parts Removes oil and grease from vessel, tools, and work area Maintains inventory of parts and cleanliness in service vehicles Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding health, safety, and environmental protection Performs other maintenance related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent  Valid driver’s licensePassing a pre-employment background and drug screeningStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets   Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity  Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised  

Preferred Qualifications:

Thorough understanding of marine engines and tools being usedDemonstrated experience with servicing marine engines Experience driving vehicles with boat trailers and launching and retrieving vessels in and out of the water Experience driving, maneuvering, and docking vesselsBoating safety ID cardVessel livery operator’s certification

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods driving to dock locations Prolonged periods standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling in order to perform job Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
