Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Freelance Editor to join our team, specializing in long-form content within the medical and scientific fields. This role requires a critical eye for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to style guidelines, as well as a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:
+ Long-Form Content Editing: Edit and refine long-form documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with regulatory and guidance requirements.
+ Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Ensure all documents meet or exceed industry regulations and requirements, adhering to timelines and quality standards.
+ Collaborative Workflow: Work closely with medical writing teams, study teams, and other cross-functional departments on project deliverables.
+ Copyediting Expertise: Conduct thorough copyediting to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to established style guides (e.g., AMA or customized style guidelines).
+ Data Integrity Review: Perform meticulous data integrity checks on assigned documents to verify numerical and textual accuracy, ensuring the validity of trial data and "p-values" as applicable.
+ Publishing Support: Compile, format, and publish medical writing deliverables, including ensuring compliance with approved workflows using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office tools.
Requirements
+ Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in professional publishing, with significant expertise in using Adobe Acrobat or similar tools.
+ Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring grammatical precision, consistency, and compliance with data integrity standards.
+ AMA Style Mastery: Extensive familiarity with the American Medical Association (AMA) style guide is strongly preferred.
+ Medical Communications Expertise:
+ Ability to interpret and edit technical/scientific data, including concepts like trial results, statistical "p-values," and maintaining fair balance across content.
+ Experience in crafting or editing healthcare-related documents with regulatory compliance in mind.
+ Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
Required Tools:
+ Adobe Acrobat: Proficiency in using Adobe or similar markup tools for document editing and publishing.
+ Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for managing content, data, and presentations.
