Freelance Tour Director Spain & Portugal

If you answered “yes” to the above, you’ve come to the right place!    Who we are: Education First (EF) is the world’s largest international education company, offering global travel and study abroad to students, young people and adults, language-learning, cultural exchange, and academic programmes.  We are looking for freelance Tour Directors to work with: EF Go Ahead Tours (goaheadtours.com): offers guided group tours for adults to 175 destinations worldwide.  The role This is a seasonal freelance position, and work will be offered and compensated on a tour-by-tour basis. As a freelance Tour Director, you will lead tours of 7 to 31 days in length, with the majority being around 12 days. Some tours are based in one country, others cover several. You will work alongside EF to create memorable experiences. From the day the group arrives, until the moment of their departure, you will stay with the group becoming their reference point and being responsible for the day-to-day tour organisation.   Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:   Managing tour logistics  Liaising with suppliers (Hotels, Restaurants, Guides etc.)  Keeping tour paperwork up to date  Providing educational commentaries  Leading fun and experiential activities  Ensuring the safety of all our travellers  Facilitating the inclusion of every person on your tour  Representing EF while on tour   Requirements:  Fluent in English  Based in Spain, Portugal, or Andorra  A valid passport and legal permission to work in the EU  Excellent leadership, communication & interpersonal skills  Organizational skills & good attention to detail  A passion for travel & education  Resilience & a ‘nothing-is-impossible' attitude  Remain calm under pressure & able to use your own initiative  Flexible to adapt to ever-changing situations  Comfortable with modern communication tools & using a smartphone     Good to have:  International travel experience  Knowledge of North American culture  A second European language  Experience leading groups of young people or adults Please note EF is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our travellers. All successful applications will be subject to a Criminal Background Check and character reference check. Next steps       Following a successful initial application, you will be invited to a Video/Phone interview, which will be followed by a group interview.
