Freezer/Sample Management Coordinator

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Malvern, PA

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hr. (24 max do not disclose)

What we’re looking for 

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in laboratory settings preferred.

Experience:

Familiarity with sample management systems and laboratory safety protocols.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and researchers.

Digital literacy required 

Documentation and Compliance

Quality Control/Sample Request Management 

OSHA Right to Know (Hazard Communications) training

Maintaining high standards of safety and quality

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

Retrieve samples requested by researchers via the SharePoint system and handle requests for materials from off-site repositories. 

Maintain the frozen sample inventory for long-term storage.

Inventory new or resubmitted samples upon check-in or drop-off.

Process samples through the SAM system, identifying and resolving errors.

Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with safety protocols.

Coordinating with researchers, and performing routine maintenance tasks to support laboratory operations.

Conduct routine defrosts as part of preventative maintenance for sample storage equipment.

Ensure that all samples are appropriately labeled and documented, complying with internal protocols
