Pay & Benefits:
Pay of $19.80 per hour*, with the opportunity for future increase per applicable collective bargaining agreement wage scale based on time in position. Opportunities for overtime and shift premiums.

Our Freight Agents extend Hospitality to Southwest Cargo Customers. This role is responsible for safely loading and unloading Southwest Cargo items onto the aircraft, coordinating with Ground Operations Teams to meet flight departure and arrival timelines, and working together with the Freight Agent Team to prioritize shipping responsibilities and modify priorities as needed. The small, but mighty Freight Agent Team also has opportunities to play a part in the transportation of life-saving organs, U.S. Mail, live seafood, and more. Freight Agents are problem solvers who enjoy multitasking and working in the outdoor elements.  

Additional details: 

This role is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and it includes working assigned shifts based on seniority. Shifts can include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.

ExperiencePreferred: Two years of airline/military related work experience in ramp/operations/provisioning functions

Licensing/CertificationMust be able to obtain a SIDA badge and meet all local airport requirementsMust possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's licenseMay be required by Station Leadership to obtain a Customs Seal and meet all requirements to work international flights

Physical AbilitiesMust be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds and/or moreMust be able to climb, bend, kneel and stand on a frequent basis and for extended periodsMust be able to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairsMust be able to distinguish each color displayed on every type of screening equipmentMust be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by screening equipmentMust maintain the ability to wear prescribed uniforms
