OVERVIEW:
The Emmanuel House Front Desk Clerk is responsible for assisting in facilitating and ensuring that all contact with the community and clients are handled in a professional and compassionate manner. The position is responsible for supporting the Emmanuel House Director in the completion of his duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overnight services provided at the facility Accountable for collection of fees, oversight of all sleeping quarters, maintenance of dormitory records, filing of client information and statistical records Answer phones, respond to inquiries and take messages when necessary, and see that all messages are delivered to the proper person on time Responsible for ongoing security checks and setting of alarms throughout Salvation Army facilities. This includes lights, heat, air conditioning, window closure, locking of all doors and any other care of property items as needed Other related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience in human services Experience working in residential care facilitiesSKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the community and resources Knowledge of residential care facilities Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds Ability to work as a team with other staff members and volunteers Detail oriented Good communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)EQUIPMENT USED:
