Front-End Developer

In this role you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and support of our on premise and cloud based software, system and/or information solutions. If you are ready to make a career out of making a difference, then you are the person for this team. **What You Will Do** + Support the analysis, design and development of high volume, low latency applications for mission critical systems delivering high-availability and performance to best meet customer needs. + Write well designed, testable, efficient code to support varied IT solutions + Collaborate with other IT specialists to rapidly develop and deliver stunning solutions that meet changing business needs. + Perform all necessary discovery and fact finding to fully understand business problems and opportunities and execute all assignments with limited supervision. + Provide input into solution buy vs. build recommendations to management when requested. + Effectively communicate development and production issues to the project team, applicable vendors and/or the manager in a timely manner. + Research and stay abreast of technology trends and IT best practices, with a focus on continuous learning. **What You Bring** + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required) + 3+ years of experience in related field. + In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field. + JAVA Enthusiast: Your strong working knowledge of JAVA sets you apart. + Agile Advocate: You're not just familiar with Agile; you live and breathe it, understanding its nuances and leveraging its strengths. + Front-End Core: Along with the front-end skills needed to create the user interface and user experience of a web application, you will build modular, independently deployable micro-front end components that can be seamlessly integrated into a larger application ecosystem while taking care of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility and understanding of UI/UX principles without impacting performance. + Cloud Enthusiast: Exposure to cloud development, especially with OpenShift and AWS, will put you in the driver's seat. + Back-End Beacon: While your primary forte is in frontend services, any back-end experience you bring will amplify your impact. **Salary Range** At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
