The Front End Developer will develop and maintain responsive internal and external commercial applications and websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.    This position also works as a coach and mentor for more junior staff and will provide peer reviews and best practices.  This position works closely with the business users and will facilitate requirements gathering and then develop detailed front end designs.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Collaborate with designers and back-end developers to create seamless and efficient web applications.Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Implement and maintain front-end frameworks and libraries.Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.May be responsible for leading projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity.Works independently without supervisor and project manager direction.Develops context diagrams, detailed design specifications and system documentation including screen design, interface design and program flow diagrams. Understands relational database design solutions.Works with the line of business users through the requirements gathering process and supports the collection, documentation and validation of business and system requirements. Works to translate those requirements into detailed specifications.Performs peer design reviews and provides best practice documentation for the team.Participates in the definition and adoption of new development approaches and technology.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and software development concepts as well as devising or modifying procedures to solve complex business challenges.

Experience: 

3+ years of experience of enterprise solution programming and design 

Skills/Knowledge: 

Proven experience as a Front End Web Developer or similar role.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Able to understand and explain difficult concepts and influence others.

Preferred:

Experience with server-side rendering and front-end build tools.Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.Understanding of SEO principles.

Working Conditions and or Physical Requirements:

Working conditions associated with normal office environment.Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
