Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Front End Developer to join their team! As a Front End Software Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining web applications and user interfaces using Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test new features and functionality. Your role will involve working closely with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and better understand user needs. You will also troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. This position offers the opportunity to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end development. Please note, to qualify for remote work, the selected applicant must reside within a reasonable commute to Fort Belvoir to provide urgent/ad-hoc support when required by the end client (est. reporting to Fort Belvoir w/in a 2-hour window). The majority of work is conducted remotely during normal business hours, and remote work must be conducted within the United States. Approximately 10% of bi-weekly worktime must take place at the client’s facility on Fort Belvoir, VA, e.g., approximately 1 out of every 10 work days.

 

Additionally, in this position you will:

Build and maintain web applications and user interfaces using Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSSCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test new features and functionalityCreate clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices and design patternsIdentify, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues as they ariseWork closely with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand user needsEnsure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end developmentAttend, participate in, and provide value-added to daily stand-up meetings

Requirements

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment as part of a development team responsible creating proof of concept and operational Cloud-based capabilities and frameworks for our client, is a self-starter who is reliable, punctual, and manages their time efficiently to meet deadlines and deliverables, possesses strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills; and also meets the following qualifications.

A minimum of 4 years of proven and demonstratable experience consistent with what is identified in the Job Description, Job Duties, and Qualifications.Strong skills and experience with and current proficiency in:JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Angular, Vue, or React. (Angular used heavily at present)HTML and CSS, including CSS frameworks such as Material Design, Bootstrap, or FoundationUI development, data analysis and visualization, and software designAgile development and tools such as JIRA, Git, Gitlab, and BitBucket, methodologies, and three-week sprintsDeveloping for the Cloud (AWS, Azure) and closed environmentsAbility to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices and design patternsWorking independently and as a member of a team, collaborating with others, leading tasks and managing task team members, and easily transitioning between these rolesSome experience with and a strong understanding of and familiarity with the following:Kubernetes, DockerSupporting and working with US military clientsPossess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Requirements

A DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP Certification (Desired but Not Mandatory)Experience with JavaScript visualization libraries such as Leaflet and D3Node/Express developing APIsExperience with KeycloakExperience with database design

Education/Certification Requirements

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or other relevant and acceptable fields is required.
