Great candidates for this position possess a depth of understanding for front-end design alongside computing fundamentals. In addition, we are looking for individuals who share our passion and desire to make a profound impact for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology.

You are an experienced engineering leader who can set the vision for more junior peers, communicating well with stakeholders who may span across a number of organizations. You have a track recording for engineering excellence and delivering results through a variety of front-end software frameworks. You have a strong sense of ownership, even when in high-pressure situations.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Driving strategic decision-making on critical UI feature development, from design through implementation and to testing and deployment
· Coaching and mentoring junior peers who share a common passion for front-end work, but may have little to no experience in its development
· Maintaining and raising the technical bar across all software development, but in particular around front-end work as you work to help foster a front-end engineering community within UPMT
· Working closely with software and science managers, product owners, and business stakeholders across different teams on a daily basis to define system architecture, elaborate user stories and discuss business and technical trade-offs
