Residential Counselor Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Align student education and residential services with IEP and ILP plans.Assist residents with residential programs and daily routines.Complete required record-keeping, data collection, and documentation.Select and supervise activities suited to each resident’s capabilities.Attend program and behavior meetings, orientation, and training sessions.Perform household chores, with or without student assistance.Ensure residents are dressed appropriately, respecting their rights and dignity.Advocate for and protect clients' rights per current policies and procedures.Maintain a mature and positive attitude with residents, staff, and guardians.Perform other duties as directed.
Hours:
Sunday - Wednesday, 9:45pm - 7:15am
Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old.Must have a valid driver’s license.High school diploma or equivalent, plus one of the following:Associate degree in Residential Care, Human Services, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Recreation.2 years or 1000 hours of experience working with children, plus 60 college credits (including 12 in specified fields).2000 hours of experience working with children, plus 24 credits in specified fields.Parent of a child over 7 years old.
