We are seeking a highly motivated Frontend Software Engineer that is driven to create our next generation design system. This skilled developer has a passion for quality and is excited to build user interfaces that deliver true value to our customers. You will work with our development and UX/UI team to develop and maintain design system components used across multiple custom-developed, enterprise applications. **District Overview** Kiewit Technology Group builds solutions to enable and support our company's expansive operations. Our team utilizes systems and tools that manage every part of Kiewit's business and the project lifecycle to improve planning and day-to-day execution in the field. This includes, **Omaha, NE.** (preferred), **Lenexa, KS** . or **Lone Tree, CO.** **Responsibilities** **System and Product Design:** + Considers the developer and customer perspective and experiences when implementing solutions. + Provides analysis of problems and recommends solutions. + Helps establish the vision and goals of the design system **Solution Execution:** + Leads the development and contributes to the technical strategy for design system component libraries. + Works with development Lead Software Engineers, Architecture, and UX/UI Teams to develop system solutions to problems. + Finds and implements opportunities to optimize frontend development across multiple enterprise applications. + Writes clean, well thought out code with an emphasis on quality, simplicity, responsive design, reusability, and maintainability. + Works within established procedures and tools to develop, test, document, code review, implement, and maintain application software while focusing on best practice application security throughout the code life cycle. + Communicates effectively and partners well with other disciplines of the project teams to deliver high quality solutions from vision to deployment and long-term product stability. **Leadership:** + Support and evangelize the use of the design system to other Software Engineers + Role model to Kiewit Technology Group’s Values; Make us better, make someone’s job easier, and deliver measurable value. **Qualifications** + Bachelors and/or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Familiar with design systems and how they are used, implemented, and maintained. + 3+ years of Software Development Experience. + Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Typescript. + Strong understanding of emerging technologies, standards, and best practices for frontend development. + Must be able to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills. + Strong understanding of frontend unit testing. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication and documentation skills. + Ability to recognize patterns across design mockups or prototypes and translate into effective, efficient code. + Ability to travel up to 10% **Preferred:** + Experience with Agile, Test Driven Development or related lifecycle methodologies preferred. + Experience with component libraries such as Kendo UI, AgGrid, or Ant Design. + Familiar with styling extensions such as Less and Sass.
