Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Paper Front Line Leader is responsible for safely and efficiently utilizing the full potential of operating, maintenance and other support resources to maximize the performance of the Paper Department facility in providing quality, timely, and cost-effective services and products to the internal and external customers. Assist the Business Unit Manager and Area Process Managers in the overall operation. Responsibilities include:
Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained by performing periodic inspections and holding employees accountable.
Maintain quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations by producing products that are within manufacturing guidelines.
Manage the overall operation and crews in order to maximize production, efficiency, and environmental compliance by effective use of resources. The shift supervisor will be expected to establish performance measures, monitor inputs/outputs, and implement action plans for optimized production and overall continuous improvement. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
Responsible for communication and teamwork within the assigned area as well as to other areas as needed. Coordination with supervisors on other shifts is vital for effective operations, including continuous process improvement, and the identification of new systems
Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained. Contributes to the development of both operators and site trades groups’ skills and knowledge, by providing assessment, on the job training and input into development and delivery of training. Plans and conducts in-service training for employees.
Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
Responsible for administrative/ personnel issues on shift.
Respond to other duties as required.
The Skills You Will Bring:
High school degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience. Pulp/paper experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year of Leadership experience.
