The role
As a Front Line Manager – Sailmaker, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. This role encompasses the entire site, involving work on various platforms and collaboration with multiple trade disciplines. Day-to-day, you’ll manage and lead a team of skilled workers, specifically supervising a team of Sailmakers.
Following and promoting control of work processes. Ensuring the workplace is safe at all times and meets appropriate health, safety, and environment standards. To manage the care and growth of a team with reference to time, performance, behaviours, and quality. Providing technical guidance in relation to your area of expertise. Take ownership and deliver project objectives to schedule and quality in accordance with Company Processes and Procedures.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard
Essential experience of the Front Line Manager – Sailmaker
A good understanding of health and safety processes associated with production activities. Required to have experience in supervising a team or be prepared to learn. Experience of repair/replace/overhaul/maintenance processes. Good leadership qualities and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Have a good understanding of all sailmaking aspects.
Qualifications for the Front Line Manager – Sailmaker
NVQ in Sailmaking/Textiles or similar - Desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
