Front of House Food & Beverage Intern
Overview The Front of House Food and Beverage Intern will support all restaurant and hospitality establishments in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves interacting with guests, assisting the front-of-house team, and gaining hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of a busy food and beverage environment. Interns will develop skills in customer service, communication, and team coordination while learning about food and beverage management. PTO and Paid Sick Leave Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Responsibilities Guest Service: Greet and seat guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable. Provide assistance with menu selections, answer questions about food and beverages, and handle any guest requests. Order Taking: Assist servers by taking orders, inputting them into the point-of-sale system, and ensuring that all special requests are communicated to the kitchen. Table Maintenance: Help ensure tables are set up properly, cleaned, and prepared for guests. Assist in clearing tables and resetting them after guests depart. Food & Beverage Knowledge: Learn about the menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to effectively answer guest questions and offer suggestions. Support Service Team: Work closely with servers, bartenders, and hosts to ensure smooth operations during peak dining hours. Assist with food delivery to tables and beverage service as needed. Customer Interaction: Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively. Event Assistance: Help with setup and breakdown for events, banquets, or private dining functions. Health & Safety Standards: Ensure that all food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout service, including proper handling of food, beverages, and kitchen equipment. Learning & Development: Participate in training programs and mentorship opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of food and beverage management and hospitality best practices. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field (or recent graduate). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Enthusiasm for the food and beverage industry, with a desire to learn. Team-oriented, positive attitude with excellent customer service skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hospitality industry.
