Front Office Agent

Position Summary

Accommodate resort patrons by registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests’ accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests.  Receives cash, or credit cards from guests and records transactions. Answers inquires pertaining to hotel services.  Promotes positive guest relations.  Operates computer terminal at Front Desk.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Front Desk Supervisor.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

Provides all guests with friendly, courteous and timely service. Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests on arrival. Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts. Computes bills, collects payments, and makes change for guests. Provides back up to reservations by making and confirming reservations. Posts charges for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to guest accounts. Transmits and receives messages. Issues room keys. Answers inquiries pertaining to Sandia Resort and Casino. Deposits guests' valuables in hotel safes or safe-deposit boxes. Stocks brochures at front desk.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of computers and Windows software. Basic mathematic skills. The ability to run a computerized cash register. Excellent organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent. One (1) year experience in a hotel or customer service job. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Licensing Status
