Position Purpose: Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives.
Job Description: As a primary contact for customers, the Frozen Food Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. Trains, supervises, schedules, and assigns duties to Frozen Food Clerks. Changes signs and prices as directed by merchandising. Responsible for maintaining appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area. Responsible for minimizing out of stock product. Writes frozen food order in the order guide book. Checks order for completeness upon arrival. Rotates product and removes expired stock daily. Keeps frozen food cases stocked with product, cleans department area, restocks items in freezer for other departments. Boards received from trucks are loaded onto pallets. Pallets are taken to the sales floor with a pallet jack and product is loaded into cases. Cardboard boxes are broken down and placed in the bailer. Ice machine is checked daily and filled as needed. End displays are restocked as per instructions. Cleans any spills from leakage in cases or on department floor. In event of a freezer malfunction or power outage the employee will remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product. May also function as cashier/checker during peak times.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
· Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
· Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
· Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
· Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
· Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
· Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
· Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts. Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
· Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
· Other duties as assigned.
