FSM Cutting Machinist 1 (Prod Util Tech) Level 1 (M - F 6:00AM - 2:30 PM)

Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesRole/Purpose:A sheet metal laser operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to shape and cut sheet metal according to precise specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Read blueprints from designers and engineersAble to load and operate the TimesaverUse hand tools to manually debur partsOperate the waterjet abrasive removal toolHand tapping sheet metal with mandrel tapperOperate a Bridgeport manual Mill to countersink sheet metalMaintain raw materials (unload raw material trucks, perform cycle counts, load/unload raw material storage racks)Safely move sheet metal materials using the vacuum lift/overhead craneAble to be certified to operate a forkliftFollowing the work schedule as assigned and ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduledEnsure all parts produced is confirmed in SAP, tagged and stagged in proper locationsPerform routine preventative maintenance on machineryPerform Quality at The Source checks on made partsAccurately record actual labor estimates on all production ordersKeep work area(s) clean and organized to 5S standardsStanding, walking, and bending for long periods of timeOccasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.Adheres to all company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned
What You Need to SucceedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Numeracy skills (calculating Countersink depths, sheet thickness, etc.)Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawings Ability to load and unload machines with various types of materialsAbility to prioritize and problem solve Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawings SAP system experienceBasic Lean Manufacturing understandingAbility to multi-taskAbility to perform duties using imperial and metric measurementsAble to follow written and oral instructionAbility to work in a high paced environmentBasic setup knowledgeWorks well with team members and other departmentsDetailed orientedDexterity and hand and eye coordinationSafety AwarenessThis position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
