Job Summary
Responsible for the oversight of the Quality Assurance Program for one or more manufacturing facilities. Oversees the overall Regulatory, Customer and HP Hood LLC Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance to any applicable regulations or requirements as well as successful achievement of the FSQ strategy/KPIs. In addition, this position will work closely with business partners to ensure that product and process are effectively managed assuring compliance for all food safety & quality requirements by driving alignment, accountability, and ownership at the manufacturing sites. Responsible for building and fostering product/process and systems improvements and instilling a strong culture of quality through peer education, collaboration and empowerment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate on and implement short and long-term strategic plans to increase efficacy, capacity and capability of the operational quality processes in a continuous improvement mindset. Leverage relationships and collaborate with all Operations leaders and other critical Leaders at each applicable manufacturing facility on integration and harmonization of FS&Q functional requirements/metrics into the annual Operations business plans. Be an integral business partner with Operations leadership within each facility. Assure that all Quality and Food Safety functional systems and processes are designed to deliver at minimum the proper level of value preservation in each of the manufacturing locations and standardized where possible to deliver reliable and consistent product outcomes. Proactively measure plant Quality and Food Safety systems to assure complete compliance to HP Hood’s, Government/Regulatory and customer compliance requirements and design/integrate effective corrective action protocols. Manage the professional growth and development of the FS&Q Operations Quality team members at each facility aligning professional development needs with the identified business requirements of the division and overall company. Assure effective fiduciary responsibility/accountability through appropriate use of financial and human capital resources at each facility. Develops a culture of proactive quality Assist in the maintenance of strong customer relationships. Manage escalated situations and the ability to provide information to assist during normal or crisis related product quality, food safety or regulatory compliance issues. 12+ years of progressive food manufacturing management experience 9+ years of experience in supervising or leading teams B.S. in (Micro)Biology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or equivalent. Driving or collaborating on new program design/change and subsequent successful implementation.
