FSQA Product Support Specialist
**Job Summary:** This position is responsible for development and accuracy of the nutrition facts panel and ingredient declaration for a wide range of products. Ensure adherence of USDA and FDA regulatory labeling for label process integrity. Use of independent judgement concerning regulations. Provide guidance and technical leadership on food labeling regulations and direction for new products compliance. Managing customer platforms for food safety compliance and development of product specifications. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + USDA/FDA Label Review for regulatory compliance + Working with product development team for new products + Managing customer platforms for food safety compliance + Working with label graphic design personnel + Additional duties as requested + Development of specification sheets **Education Required:** High School or equivalent **Education Preferred:** College Degree in Computer Science or Regulatory Compliance **Experience Required:** 1 year in related field **Experience Preferred:** 3 years in food production regulatory compliance **Licenses/Certifications Preferred:** Genesis software program; GS1 Labeling compliance; USDA/FDA/CFIA regulatory requirements training; PCQI Certification; HACCP Certification **Technical Skills and Abilities:** + Primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance concerning regulatory compliance. + Ability to review detailed information and determine compliance with current federal regulations and determine if changes are needed. + Identify opportunities and make recommendations for new SOPs and/or revisions to existing SOPs. + Perform project management activities. Identify project scope, appropriate tasks required, due dates, and predecessor activities required to meet project deadline. + Assist in collection of product information for regulatory compliance reviews, product setup, or other regulatory activities as needed. Cataloging of product information as needed + Work directly with regulatory agencies. + Design of label approval workflow, including all necessary customer and/or government approvals, if needed. + Ensure all product identifications are compliant and will not cause the Sysco brand to be recalled due to labeling requirements. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to read dense and complex regulatory documents and communicate findings in a way that is easily understood to nonexperts. + Understand UDSA & FDA labeling regulations. + Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of organizations. **Language Requirements:** Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred. **Physical Demands:** Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
