Job Summary:
\n\n\nThe FSQA Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for leading and ensuring the implementation and execution of the Sanitation throughout the manufacturing facility. The FSQA Sanitation Supervisor will work alongside Operations, and Maintenance to help implement and facilitate sanitation practices across the plant. The role will provide leadership, industrial best practices and serve as a technical liaison between departments. The role will maintain a positive work environment and ensure compliance with food safety and employee safety standards. The role will also be responsible for validation and implementation of sanitation practices including SSOPs and cleaning practices, use of correct cleaning chemicals, and the delivery of training materials.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide verification that the teams are executing the cleaning and sanitizing to an effective level.
\n\n\nMonitors the cleaning systems/procedures to ensure optimal cleanliness of all processing areas.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPartners with management and production personnel to troubleshoot sanitation problems; recommending changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures, and cleaning effectiveness.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoutine assessment (i.e., auditing, KPI reporting,) of cleaning and sanitation program effectiveness for the purposes of continuous improvement.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nServes as the back-up Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the Site Superintendent and or Sanitation Director for the facility on sanitation programs.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEnsures the necessary sanitation oversight and resources are available to fully support the operation.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConducts and or attends regular meetings with the plant management to discuss sanitation findings.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnalyzes data and trends related to cleaning verification and validation activities, triggering appropriate corrective and preventive actions to ensure adherence to food safety and quality requirements.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCollaborates with facility departments to define sanitation activities and resources needed to ensure completion of Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). Audit MSS and complete RCCA on issues identified.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImplements and promotes chemical/sanitation safety programs and safe work practices through active participation in safety meetings. Ensures sanitation team clearly understands all safety rules and regulations, has received appropriate training, and that their work performance is in accordance with all applicable regulations.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAssist the Sanitation Director and or Superintendent to partners with the Quality Manager/Plant Manager to develop and oversee the department’s operating budget, ensuring that proper procedures are followed, and expenses are within budgeted guidelines.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmphasizes sanitation opportunities in production areas by communicating and training production personnel on sanitation issues.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaintains a close partnership with the cross functional team at the plant to achieve overall company objectives.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlerts senior management on major issues.
\n\n\n\n\n\n
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
\n\n\n\n\nProgressive sanitation supervision experience in an FDA or USDA regulated food manufacturing facility is preferred.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCombination of wet and dry sanitation leadership experience in driving a robust and sustainable sanitation program in food manufacturing is required.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDemonstrates strong problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, risk assessment and corrective action.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProven ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure is required.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment is required.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHACCP and Internal Auditor certificates are preferred.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFlexible to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProven ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with each member of the organization is required.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbility to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnowledge of sanitation processes and procedures is required.

Education & Experience:
\n\n\n\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology Biology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThree-Five (3-5) years of experience in food manufacturing with at least three years in food sanitation required.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnowledge of the GMP, HACCP and Environmental sanitation program is preferred.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
