FT Driver and Direct Support hybrid role Middletown , New York , United States | Full-time Apply with Linkedin Apply with IndeedApply Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am - 4pm The Resource Recovery Center of Orange Countyis dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those suffering from Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. Substance Use Disorders are chronic illnesses, and treatment provided is based upon the presenting needs of the individual. Our goal is to help individuals and families begin the physical, emotional and spiritual healing process by utilizing compassionate, encouraging and evidence-based practices. We ultimately strive to guide individuals, and their families, towards a goal of living life to its full potential-free from addiction. We are currently seeking a immediate full-time Driver. The Driver provides transportation for clients of Resource Recovery Center of Orange County and general courier services. Knowledge of geographical area, (Orange County and NYC) safe driving record, ability to work with chemically dependent population, flexibility is a must. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provide transportation to clients of RRCOOC to and from assigned activities, local train/bus station, other approved appointments (e.g. including Crisis Centers, medical appointments, Dept of Social Services, etc.). + Assists with overall transportation needs of the agency. + Maintain daily travel log on all routes and make these available as requested. Also used for NYS Dept of Transportation reports. + Ensures maintenance, service, inspections and cleaning etc. needed on vehicle used and notifies supervisor of needed service. + Maintains confidentiality of all client information as required by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS) as required by law under NYS CFR 42. + Inspects vehicle daily doing 360 check to ensure no dents on vehicle. + Informs supervisor immediately of any tickets. + Perform Client Care related tasks when not driving. + Provide courteous and engaging customer service from safety desk or residential “L” posts, cross training for all posts/workstations. + Provides support for evacuation drills, and effective responses to safety & emergency codes. + Observes and monitors clients, providing trauma informed redirection and encouragement to adhere to program activity schedule and structure. + Assists with locating clients and escorting clients to internal appointments. + Assist with all meals and snacks and monitors the dining area. + Assists with nicotine dosing administration for limited smoking program. + Supports proper room searches and screenings of all client’s property for contraband. + Monitors facility premises, access points, activities areas, and residential halls. + Ensures clients basic needs of clean linen, food, water, clothing, cleaning, and waste disposal are met while in quarantine and modified quarantine. + Supervision of client leisure time activities and outside recreation activities. + Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. + Represents our agency in a professional, ethical, and positive way when interacting with clients, staff and visitors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + High School Diploma or equivalent + Current valid New York State Driver’s license + One (1) year professional driving experience SKILLS: + Great interpersonal skills + Attention to detail + Excellent communication skills + Computer skills + Ability to work calmly under pressure + Safe Driver
