Examples of Duties + Operates independently to coordinate the implementation of program functions, student intake and assessments, marketing, outreach, and family engagement + Assists in developing and presenting workshops and classroom instruction to students and parents that focus on proven strategies leading to successful transition + Administers required assessments and evaluations + Coaches students in academic or vocational concepts + Completes Individual Transition Plans and ensures goals created within the plan are addressed + Identifies community resources and makes referrals for students and their families + Monitors and maintains student records to track goals and to ensure accurate reporting according to program regulations + Prepares and submits requests, information, and reports related to the Center for Transition Success + Responds to the potential participant and other program inquiries + Represents the Center for Transition Success at internal and external events + Serves as backup for other Workforce Development members as assigned + Performs related duties as assigned Typical Qualifications Education: + Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field Experience: + 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families + Execution of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan Competencies and Skills: + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills + Knowledge of special education rules and regulations and the transition process + Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state regulations related to individuals with disabilities + Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Supplemental Information Terms of Employment: This position requires scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape campus and other locations related to the delivery of the grant objectives.
