The Fuel Attendant works in support of the store leadership team to facilitate the completion of all outside fuel tasks and performs a variety of tasks related to different areas of the store including outside cleanliness, customer service, general fuel pump maintenance, and other fuel-related functions. The Fuel Attendant ensures an exceptional customer experience for all Royal Farms fuel customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures that every customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, product knowledge, and all other components of customer service
• Ensures all customers are asked if they are using ROFO pay for a fuel discount
• Responds to customer requests in a timely manner
• Ensures the vehicle engine is not in operation prior to beginning the fueling process
• Requests any motorcyclist to dismount from the bike prior to beginning any fueling
• Pumps fuel into the motor vehicle after confirming the type of fuel needed
• Collects money from the customer and provides them with a valid receipt
• Maintains proper records and follows all cash handling policies related to fuel purchases
• Ensures all tools and equipment in/around the fueling stations are clean and stocked at all times
• Supports and follows all safety and loss prevention initiatives including—but not limited to—the following:
No smoking or vaping at any time while dispensing fuel or while in the fuel pump area
Proper use of safety equipment, including safety vest or designated uniform
• Adheres to the execution of established Royal Farms rules, policies, procedures, and systems
• Ensures the proper execution of all Royal Farms marketing programs
• Completes outdoor housekeeping functions including sweeping, cleaning, emptying trash, dusting, and washing windows
• Maintain full court of 8 pumps per person and ensure all cones are removed from the fuel court when opened
• Replenishes products and supplies to ensure the outside fueling area is stocked at all times (towels, washer fluid, receipt paper, RoFo Rewars cards, etc.)
• Communicates with the leadership team about customer requests and vendor-related concerns
• Possesses highly effective communication skills
• Ensures the compliance of Royal Farms policies, procedures, and systems (people, safety, assets, etc.)
• Completes other tasks as assigned by store management
The ideal candidate for the Fuel Attendant position must be at least 16 years old and:
• Understands that their success is based on their team’s success, encouraging and inspiring their coworkers to improve themselves
• Possesses strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Possesses organizational skills and basic computer skills
• Is physically fit, healthy, and able to be on their feet throughout the working hours
• Can work outside in all types of weather
• Can frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
• Interacts easily with diverse employees
• No experience required
• Preferably has earned a high school diploma or GED
• Has thorough knowledge of—and is committed to—Royal Farms culture and values
• Utilizes basic business math and decision-making skills
