The Fuel Cell Systems Engineer will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. \n
\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nUnderstand the Concept of Operations (ConOps).\nWrite, review and provide input to system and sub-system level requirements.\nUnderstand\/modify verification and validation plan if needed including verification matrix (success criteria for requirements) and track items to completion.\nPerform requirements and interface management, including preparation of change requests, assessment of impacts and management of requirements traceability, updates to verification planning and verification criteria, and interface control documents.\nProvide written and oral statuses in the form of presentations or reports.\nPrepare materials and track open actions.\nWork with team members to perform risk management, including identification, mitigation planning and tracking.\nAdapt to new design constraints, functions, and configurations as needed.\nMaintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.\nReview content of Power Interface Control Document (ICD) and collaborate with other subsystem teams to define Rover requirements and capture subsystem needs.\nIntegrate requirements flow-down (for example: Level 2 to Level 3 to Level 4).\nManage the requirements from environmental specifications and applicable splinter documents.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. \nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.\nExperience with the development of space systems requirements documents and verification plans. For example, at Johnson Space Center these documents are called PTRS (Project Technical Requirements Specification), Verification and Validation documents (V&VD), and ICD (Interface Control Document).\nExperience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.\nExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space power systems.\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products including SharePoint and TEAMS.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\nPrefer chemical engineer or related degree.\nPrefer aerospace or mechanical engineering degree.\nExperience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes.\nINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.\nWorking knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.\nFamiliarity with NASA\/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites.\nBasic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off.\nThis position may require some travel.\n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
