FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER
Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will operate refueling trucks to transport fuel on the installation and over public highways. You will perform daily operator maintenance on vehicles (e.g., check fluid levels, tire pressure, etc.). You will collect fuel samples from tankers, bulk storage tanks, fill stands, nozzles, mobile re-fuelers, filters, and separators to conduct on site visual tests. You will be responsible for the transferring and placement of fuel. You will be responsible for the maintenance of storage tanks and equipment. You will serve on quick response for oil spills, tank ruptures, and leaks from barges, or other types of petroleum pollution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: EXAMPLE TASKS INCLUDE: Experience in vehicle fuel pumping systems, filtration equipment, and fuel monitors and meters to receive and dispense fuel; Operating fuel trucks and installed equipment having gross weight over 40,000 pounds; Performing daily operator maintenance on vehicles (e.g.; check fluid levels, tire pressure, etc.); Complete preventive maintenance records, documents results of daily inspections, complete trip tickets and accident reports, etc., and to maintain hard copy files of required documents; Operating refueling trucks to transport fuel on the installation and over public highways.
