Job Summary Develops procurement plans for fuel (coal, oil, petroleum coke, uranium and/or natural gas) and related transportation; negotiates and administers fossil fuel procurement and transportation agreements. Applies knowledge of fuel markets, procurement sources and transportation practices in support of existing business requirements, new business development, and the Corporation's risk management process. Acts as the customer service interface between the Fuel Supply business unit (BU) and the Company's power plants, addressing concerns related to the plants' supply of fuel, ensuring that the plants' interests are addressed throughout the fuel planning and procurement process, and communicating fuel supply contractual changes to plant management. Develops and presents recommendations to BU and plant management regarding opportunities to lower fuel expense. May mentor, provide guidance and direction, or act in a subject matter expert capacity for less experienced staff; may provide input in performance evaluations, but does not supervise. Span of control =0; this is an individual contributor job Key Accountabilities Negotiates contracts that secure favorable terms (volume discounts, etc.) with regard to the pro-curement and transportation of fuels. Evaluates freight classifications, tariff rates, and operating efficiency to ensure the proper delivery of materials. Develops new sources for procurement of fuels. Maintains high level of compliance to quality and delivery requirements for fuels, encouraging improvements in existing products or providing recommendations for new products. Establishes and maintains contact with suppliers to ensure contract compliance. Prepares management presentations, promoting project plans or providing other information. Administers the fuel resources workflow, ensuring that suppliers and associated vendors are invoiced and that accounting records are accurate Provides transportation expertise in developing strategies for new business development Performs economic analysis in evaluating new business opportunities and supporting contract ne-gotiations. Works with suppliers, logistics specialists, and customers in resolving problems with transportation service and billing. Performs economic analysis of various supply options and scenarios; presents recommendations to BU and plant management Recommends and facilitates test burns of new fuel sources with the power plants Supports the development of fuel forecasts, budgets and current outlooks used for various BU and Corporate purposes Utilizes a thorough understanding of power plant operation and how the fuel quality impacts on boiler combustion and boiler-related equipment in developing recommendations to power plant management regarding fuel supply concerns and issues. Addresses plant-related concerns and is-sues. May lead projects (including assigning work, reviewing progress and evaluating results), mentor, provide guidance and technical direction to less experienced engineering and technical staff, including the provision of input in performance evaluations, but is not responsible for supervising anyone. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration (including accounting, finance, or supply chain/logistics), economics, engineering or a job-relevant discipline, & 6 years of related experience, including any combination of economic analysis, contract administration, power plant and/or industrial facilities experience Other Qualifications

Preferred

Natural Gas or Nuclear market experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (or equivalent) word processing, spreadsheet & presentation applications sufficient to apply them with minimal instruction or guidance. Ability to travel & report for work at different locations (typically within the Corporation's service area); incumbents are responsible for their own transportation. Knowledge of contract development and negotiation Working knowledge of power plant functions, budgeting, forecasting & economic analysis, risk management & utility regulatory accounting, and legal & commercial contract terminology. Knowledge of  fuel properties, including the possibilities & limitations of each. Problem solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies, power plant issues and other  fuel related matters as they occur Consulting and influencing skills consistent with the ability to build relationships and influence parties; may include getting parties to embrace changing expectations and initiatives. Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence. Additional Information
