Job Description:
We are looking for a highly talented Mechanical Piping Engineer to work full-time with a highly talented team in the USA (Remotely). Fuel System Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to our commitment to improving industrial and maintenance This role is based out of our Bucharest office with hybrid work permitted. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial processes (Oil & Gas, petrochemical).
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to develop within and further the technical skills we bring to our new and existing client base.
Qualified candidates will have a familiarity with design aspects for heavy industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Fuel System Design:
Design and layout of fuel pipelines (aboveground and underground), storage tanks, and transfer systems for various fuel types (aviation jet fuel, diesel, ethanol, motor gasoline).
Knowledge of fuel receipt (tankers, marine vessels) and fuel issue systems (aircraft, ground vehicles).
Surge Analysis & Pressure Management:
Proficiency in surge analysis software to mitigate pressure surges within fuel systems, particularly in piping systems.
Experience in adjusting piping layouts to prevent pressure-related issues during system operation.
Pipe Stress Analysis:
Familiarity with pipe stress analysis software to ensure compliance with ASME B31.1 (piping codes and standards).
Experience in designing piping systems to account for thermal expansion, vibration, and other stress factors.
Code Compliance & Safety Standards:
Familiarity with commercial codes and regulations such as NFPA 30, NFPA 30A, and NFPA 407, which are specifically relevant to fuel system design and piping safety.
Multidiscipline Coordination:
Ability to work with civil, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure that fuel system designs are integrated properly with other engineering disciplines.
Coordinating piping designs with structural elements (such as tank foundations) and electrical components (such as fuel pumps and controls).
Team Collaboration:
Having the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while guiding other engineers and technologists is considered a significant advantage.
Having the ability to prepare a level of effort estimates and manage the effort spent on industrial engineering tasks in projects and opportunities will be considered an advantage.

Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering 15+ Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Fuel system, process/piping engineering, and/or oil and gas design experience.
Experience and ability to use piping any 3D software (i.e. Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, etc.) AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Experience working with and coordinating with multidiscipline design teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in the industrial design (Oil & Gas, petrochemical) of various Fuel Systems and Storage Facilities.
Familiarity with surge analysis software and experience adjusting piping systems to reduce or remove the potential for pressure surges during system operation.
Familiarity with thermal pipe stress analysis software and experience adjusting piping systems to ensure stress levels in the piping systems are following acceptable levels listed in ASME B31.1.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pipe, and fuel pump sizing calculation methods and software. Experience using hand calculations and software to calculate fuel pump motor hp requirements.
Familiarity with commercial codes and regulations related to fuel system design such as the IFC, NFPA 30, NFPA 30A, and NFPA 407.
Commercial fuel system design experience.
