JOB SUMMARY:

 

This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS.

 

As a Motor Fuel Tax Accountant, you will work in conjunction with others to ensure all areas of compliance are met on both a state and federal level. Sound intimidating? Don’t worry. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Collaborate with teams across the POET system to assist in the efficiency of information flow.Learn the ins-and-outs of our process, maintain and update documentation, looking for areas to improve the process.Process, verify, and file tax returns for bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual taxes.Research tax questions as they come up.Have excellent customer service as we work to solve problems.Track and enter data, run reports and maintain records related to motor fuel taxes.Work with state and territories for annual business reports and license renewals.Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!  

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

High school diploma or equivalent3+ years’ experience in accounting or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related fieldExperience working with Microsoft Office including MS Excel and OutlookExperience working with financial statementsExcellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

You are not afraid to ask questions, as you’re always looking to improve and help others.Ability to work in a team environment
