Fuels Lab Supervisor

Description

We are seeking applicants for Fuels Lab Supervisor. The successful candidate will have the ability to strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) encompassing a variety of procedures, with a commitment to detail and accuracy is a requirement of this position. As the Supervisor you will be managing multiple Lab Analysts who will be performing the duties listed below as well as performing these duties when needed. as well as reliability and a well-developed ability to communicate both orally and written, are required. For consideration of the position, candidates must have a working understanding of fundamental chemistry concepts to safely handle tasks associated with high accuracy chemical analysis. Candidates must be able to follow operating procedures and adhere to good lab practice principles with a commitment to detail and accuracy. Preference will be given to candidates with working experience in inorganic analytical chemistry laboratories. This is a full-time position of 40+ hours a week, with the possibility of overtime.

Typical functions performed by the Lab Analysts and the Supervisor, when necessary, include:

•\tSample dissolutions using acid and fusion methods

•\tInstrumental analysis on inorganic samples using Leco instrumentation

•\tWet chemical analyses such as gravimetric analyses, ISE analysis, titration instruments, probe analysis, etc and other methods

•\tLab cleanup and organization

•\tInstrument maintenance

•\tMaking/verifying standards and calibrations

•\tPerforming initial data verification and review

•\tConstruct bench and pilot scale systems

•\tOther duties as assigned

Typical Fuels Lab Supervisor Duties:

•\tLogging in all incoming Fuels Lab samples

•\tTalking to current clients about client project issues (i.e. data, reporting, project status, overdue client invoices, etc.)

•\tTalk to potential clients about Fuels Lab capabilities

•\tCreate quotes for potential client projects or new quotes for current clients

•\tCreate reports for clients

•\tReview, edit, and/or correct Fuels Lab data

•\tTraining new and current Lab Analysts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

•\t4-year degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry or a related field or the equivalent in industry experience

•\t2 years minimum supervisory experience

•\tFamiliar with MS Office (specifically Excel and Word)

-Chemistry degree preferred

-Fuels experience is preferred, but not a disqualifier

-lab experience preferred 3-5 years

-supervisor experience 2 years

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
