**POSITION TITLE:** **Shelving Associate**
**TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:** **Assistant Manager, Shelving**
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
This position is primarily responsible for shelving merchandise that is received into the correct location throughout the warehouse. The secondary responsibility of this position is to assist with order pulling to fulfill orders for shipment.
**REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Shelves the merchandise received by scanning the tote ID or pallet ID.
Follows directions from the voice inventory software system known as Jennifer for placing items in the appropriate location throughout the warehouse.
Assists with pulling orders and replenishment based on instruction from the voice inventory software program known as Jennifer.
Bags and tags inventory.
Operates powered equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner.
Assists with organizing and cleaning the warehouse.
Assists in taking inventory on a bi-monthly basis or as needed.
**EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:** None
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
The Shelver must be able to effectively listen and follow specific directions. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The Shelver must be able to read and write and effectively communicate with others. This individual must have basic math skills. This position requires a person to be on their feet working in a fast paced warehouse environment throughout day.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. The associate is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to move at a fast pace throughout the warehouse. The associate is also required to stand, climb or balance, stoop and kneel. The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision ability required include, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Normal hearing is required.
