Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department by ensuring workflow efficiencies, developing procedures and employees, managing the inventory control, fulfillment, packing and shipping of the medication for the patient.

Job Responsibilities:Manages the production and quality process of the pharmacy functions by allocating resources to ensure workflow efficiencies while adhering to applicable laws and regulations governing pharmacy practiceManages and coordinates the adherence to established customer standards by ensuring proper staffing levels of the Pharmacy Operations teamsDevelops the Group Supervisors in addition to their team through orientation, training, communication of rules and constructive discipline while building employee morale, motivation, and loyaltyIdentifies and develops employees' abilities for promotional opportunities and potential contribution to the company in order to meet the changing needs of the facilityInforms all appropriate personnel of departments' plans, programs, and operations that affect their areas, and encourages feedback from all employees to increase productivityImplements department organization structure through proper hiring and placement, scheduling of work, assignment of responsibility, and delegation of authorityDevelops employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of rules, and constructive disciplineManages team to ensure appropriate inventory levels are in stock to meet the needs of the patient population for the order fulfillment team and that purchases are made cost effectively by working closely with the purchasing and finance departments; maintains the cycle count and physical inventory process; facilitates all product recallsFacilitates the medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, ensures inventory is checked regularly and assures removal of expired products from inventoryActs as liaison for vendors including shipping carriers and shipping suppliers while working with the purchasing department to assure the use of cost-effective suppliesCoordinates services with the Operations department managers to effectively interface the processing of the order through the appropriate operational stages and through the fulfillment of an order within productivity and quality standardsDevelops, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Detail Aids related to the pharmacy operations in accordance with state and federal regulations to service the patients based on changes related to the industry, system and fulfillment of the order in addition to the needs of the businessConducts timely performance evaluations for the subordinate staff; sets specific, measurable and realistic performance objectives; provides constructive feedbackSupervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the development, oversight and implementation of departmental budgetResponsible for leading a team through teaching, coaching and inspiring by fostering a sense of energy, ownership and a responsibility for the flawless execution of operational excellence; engage in the selection and hiring process as neededOther responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictates.
