What we do:We build and maintain a repository of digitized learning standards, education search terms, and unique identifiers, covering more than 7 million standards.We build and support AI-powered alignment tools and solutions.We grow great products by investing in the teams that create them: the hallmarks of our engineering culture are constructive code review, hackweeks, internal conferences, a bias to action, thoughtful collaboration, and regular communication.We work with Amazon Web Services to provision infrastructure, reduce costs, and scale traffic.We write testable, performant code that can scale to tens of millions of requests per day.We work as a team to mentor and teach other engineers, encouraging best practices and fostering code reuse.
What we look for:4+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in coding and system designExperience with RESTful/GraphQL APIsExperience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), including database design, optimization and query tuningA bias to action, desire for ownership, and love for problem-solvingDemonstrated excellence in programming, debugging, architecture, and DevOps — our engineers design, build, and deploy their own codeNode.js and its frameworks (e.g. Express, NestJS), Python is a plusAWS, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)Front-end, preferably React experience is a plusStrong communication and teamwork skillsExperience with building and deploying AI models is a plusFluency in English
