Responsibilities

Own, oversee, and drive the strategy of the development, implementation, assessment, and support of one or more environments, applications, or platforms.Drives and architects the overall health, performance, availability, and resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.Serves as the deep technical expert on the team; owns training program for junior engineers and mentors as the go to resource on the team.Evaluates and makes decisions on new technologies and how they fit into the product solutions.Displays outward thinking, develops strategies for the full software development life-cycle of new and emerging technologies and demonstrates the viability; owns recommended technologies, maintain budget constraints, and ensure communication and awareness of implemented technologyCreates, reviews, and approves technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts with Sr EngineersRecommends standards and best practices across the entire bank for technologyDefine high-level application platform architectural guidelines and articulate reasoning and trade-offs for choices to business ownersDeep understanding of the business; drives, formulates and designs complex solutions to anticipate and meet business needs​Develop architecture diagrams, detailed design diagrams, interfaces working with all the dependent technical teams Lead a team of developers to design, develop and deploy robust, scalable and secure software solutions in compliance with enterprise standardsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers to foster growth and ensure best practices are followedLead end to end development from User interface to server side logic to database management for all applications under the squadHands on development, root cause analysis, defect analysis as neededConduct code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards and improve team skillsApplies, and proactively prepares to ensure, proper security standards for code development. Provides direction and recommendations on solutions for security vulnerabilities if uncovered, and represent Security variances in Security Technology review meetingsIdentify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to ensure system scalability, reliability, availability Independently develops and sets best practices for developing clean, maintainable, testable code; performs code reviews for all levels of engineer and drives high standards for code quality, testing and documentationProvide recommendations for tools and develop plans and strategies to improve overall hygiene for code development, delivery and release practicesDevelop a culture of modern software development practices Own the applications and operational system tasks associated with the applicationsEnsure seamless communication between development teams, other departments such as QA, Enterprise Architecture etcStay up to date with latest trends in full stack development continuously researching and evaluating new technologies that can improve applications

Skills:

Experienced and adept at trouble shooting and debuggingMust understand and have implemented core development principlesExperience working with RESTful API design, SOAP services and microservices architectureProficient in front end development using React JS, Angular, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, ES6Relational Database experience (SQL, Oracle)Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, code management (bitbucket, Gitlab), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructureUtilized code review tools such as SonarQubeExperience with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress,  Mocha etcKnowledge of Siebel CRM webservices is a plusHands on experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teamsStrong problem-solving abilities and ability to drive technical solutions in a fast-paced environmentDriven leader with ability to mentor and motivate team members and foster positive and productive team culture (This is critical skill for the role in addition to technical expertise)Experience working in agile development environment (Kanban, Scrum)

Experience:

8+ years in full stack software development with hands on experience with front end (React, Angular), backend technologies (java, node.js) and web service integrations5+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL2+ years of experience in a tech lead role demonstrating leadership and team management skills5+ years of experience in banking / finance industry

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree with computer science or equivalent

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $95,000 to $120,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
