SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack WordPress Developer to join our team to create and maintain school websites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining WordPress-based websites for schools, ensuring that the websites are user-friendly, visually appealing, and easy to navigate. Develop, maintain and update WordPress-based websites for numerous schoolsDesign and develop new website features, functionalities and templatesCollaborate with school administrators, teachers, marketing, and IT staff to determine website requirements and create project plansEnsure website design and functionality are optimized for user experience and accessibilityProvide architectural oversight, code refactoring, improvements, and code reviewsAssist teams in website migration tasks, triaging bugs and resolving production issuesManage DevOps processes and facilitate testing, deployments, security, and monitoringReview and manage pull requests and code mergesMonitor website traffic, user behavior, and other analytics to inform ongoing improvementsEnsure website security, backups and maintenanceThis role will have end to end accountability of development, testing, deployment and ownership of the code after releasing in productionStay up to date with industry trends and best practicesSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and/or certifications in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field preferredMinimum 5+ years of experience in WordPress development and web developmentProficient with both front and back-end development for WordPressStrong experience with front-end web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAXExperience with server-side programming languages specifically PHP, and interfacing with multiple backend APIs and MicroservicesWell versed with data caching and MySQL as it relates to WordPressUnderstanding of web design principles and user experience best practicesExperience with website analytics and monitoring toolsExperience with website security, backups and maintenanceAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamStrong communication and project management skillsExperience working with schools or educational organizations is a plusCertificates and Licenses: None required.

This position is virtual and open to residents of the 50 states, D.C.Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be $57,519.75 to $121,792.80. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
