GENERAL SUMMARY:The Chaplain I is responsible for the pastoral care of patients, their visitors, and staff on an “as needed” basis. Responds to the spiritual needs of patients and/or their families in crisis or grief situations. Provides and coordinates patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs of patients. Demonstrates competencies unique to pastoral/spiritual care of patients.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSUREA.Education
At least a Bachelor's in Theology / Religious Studies; Preferred: Masters in Theology / Pastoral MinistryTraining and Experience
Completion of at least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) – supervised chaplaincy training.Minimum of two (2) years of spiritual care in a parish or hospital setting.DEMANDS
