Full Time Clinical Faculty - Samaritan School of Nursing located in St Marys Hospital - EXEMPT position
Shift-40 hrs a week
Position Summary:
The Clinical Faculty is a full-time faculty member responsible for guiding, supervising, and/or precepting both LPN and RN students during clinical experiences in order to meet the student learning outcomes of both the course and overall program. The Clinical Faculty works collaboratively with the Course Chairs, other members of the faculty, and Clinical Coordinator to help facilitate the clinical learning needs and outcomes according to professional nursing standards. In addition to working in the clinical setting, this role requires the Clinical Faculty to collaborate with the Learning Lab Resource Coordinator (LLRC), Laboratory Staff, and Course Chairs in planning and implementing laboratory experiences with students on all levels. It is the expectation that the Clinical Faculty will mainatain and facilitate working relationships with clinical sites, preceptors, mentors, and educational personel. This is a non-didactic teaching role and is focused on the clinical learning needs of the student.
Education Requirements:
- Valid/Current New York State unencumbered Registered Nurse license
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or Master's in process
- Concentration in nursing education preferred
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience teaching pre-licensure level nursing courses
- Experience supervising students in the clinical setting
- Experience with a variety of patient populations
- Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule
- Must be an expert in basic nursing practice and theory
- Experience with evaluating clinical outcomes and meeting acreditation standards
Pay Range: $38.00hr - $54.70hr
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
