Full-Time Instructional Faculty for the Touro University Physician Assistant Program located in Middletown, NY, under the supervision of the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for the management and evaluation of the program’s clinical components. The Instructional Faculty member will work 36.5 hours per week. We are seeking an individual with an advanced degree and some experience in academia is preferred. This role is designed for an individual who may not be a Physician Assistant, but rather contribute to the program through their expertise in areas such as advisement, coordination, administrative duties and management.This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Assists the Clinical Coordinator with the following:

Maintain accreditation by coordinating the efforts of the PA Program to meet and/or exceed the ARC-PA Standards.Scheduling required and elective five-week clinical clerkshipsEnsuring proper paperwork is distributed to clinical sites.Assignment and supervision of Callback under the direction of the Clinical CoordinatorMaintaining ongoing records of each student in Exxat platform.

Teaching:

Instruct first year and second year students in the following:Lecturing in area of expertiseReviewing and grading master’s projects

Curriculum:

Monitor evaluation of learning outcomesReview and grade clinical exams

Committee Service:

Will participate on appropriate committees (as schedule allows) as requested by the Program Director.Participates in reaccreditation and program evaluation activities as deemed appropriate by the Program Director.

Administrative Duties:

Typing exam questions under the direction of the Clinical CoordinatorPreparing student exams for Callback and Culminating semester via Examsoft and PAEAIf necessary, taking minutes for the Academic Progress CommitteeProctoring exams if needed 

Responsibilities for general aspects of the PA Program and the School of Health Sciences

Participation in scholarly activities is encouraged (involvement in professional organizations, research, etc.)Participating in the preparation of accreditation documents and participating in the self-study process.Serving on school-wide committee is encouragedParticipating in the recruitment effort Qualifications Education/ ExperienceA Master’s degree or higher is requiredSome experience in academia recommendedKnowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesAbility to solve complex problems and meet deadlinesEffectively manage and organize daily tasks independently and with a team while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlinesMust be able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in a team environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook
