Koniag Government Services company, is seeking Full-time Paramedic (6-month minimal term) to support **Kadiak** and our government customer in Anniston, AL. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:** + Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Life Support (ALS) treatment as required under the general supervision of the Lead Paramedic (Supervisor). + Identify the injury, illness or condition and render appropriate care to alleviate symptoms or suffering. + Independently perform paramedic-specific duties as outlined in the State of Alabama Paramedic Protocols, In accordance with (IAW) State of Alabama Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Rules. + Respond to emergency medical calls by rendering treatment and/or transporting patients to a medical facility. + Maintains contact with the receiving medical facility and/or the medical director during EMS encounters to provide victim information and receive medical guidance and direction. + Evaluate individuals and provide appropriate medical treatment for illness or injuries resulting from exposure to chemical or biological agents at the Chemical, Ordinance, Biological, Radiological Training Facility (COBRATF). + Transport individuals under emergency and non-emergency conditions. + Disinfects vehicles and instruments after completing patient care. + Operate and maintain site medical treatment rooms for the evaluation and care of sick and injured persons, including those requiring acute care, first aid or palliative treatment, and/or occupational specialties. + Perform medical evaluations of individuals who have been absent from training for a specified period of time due to illness, injury, or other reasons to ensure they are physically and/or emotionally fit to return to training based on the real and potential health hazards encountered in the training environment. + Refer students/employees to private health care provider for follow-up or further evaluation of non-training related medical issues encountered during screening/medical vital sign evaluation. + Contacts patients to ensure their well-being following clinic visits. + Completes all medical record documentation and follow-up services prior to end of shift. + Attend seminars, workshops, continuing education courses, and in-house training sessions to maintain licensure and remain current on the latest methods, techniques and procedures regarding patient care and safety. + Inspect and maintain emergency equipment and vehicle to ensure proper operating condition. + Maintain inventory of medical supplies IAW policies and procedures. + Instruct various groups in basic first aid techniques and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, conducts blood pressure clinics, and gives presentations on EMS services and tours of facilities. + Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks at base facility and grounds along with washing and cleaning ambulances. + Assist with various community functions as a representative of the department. + Perform other duties, as assigned. **Qualifications include:** + U.S. citizenship + Current State of Alabama paramedic license and National Registry Certification (NREMT-P) + Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification + BLS (Must obtain before start date if not currently active) + Minimum of 3 Peer References that can attest to your clinical ability within the past 2 years + Works with Clinic physician/ CRNP to ensure operations are consistent with medical and professional standards of care. + Participates in EMS quality reviews + Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate responsive measures. + Clearly communicate with peers and supervisors. + Clear driving record. + Paramedics working on the Medical Support Services contract must meet and maintain the following physical fitness requirements to perform their jobs. **Physical:** + Lift and Carry: Must be able to lift a specified amount of weight (125 -175 mannequin) onto a stretcher, strap and secure the weight, and load into an ambulance. + Rapid Stair Climb: Must climb three flights of stairs and back down in 3 minutes, carrying 40 pounds of equipment (two 20-pound dumbbells or 40-pound backpack). + Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to include an air purifying respirator, for extended periods of time. **Agility:** + Kneel, bend down and twist your body in order to get to the afflicted individual + Move quickly through small areas and around obstacles **Manual Dexterity:** + Must possess the ability to move the hand and fingers in coordinated, exact movements to administer aid to patients safely and effectively. + Use of a variety of medical instruments that may, depending upon the illness or injury, require great precision to prevent further injury. **Vision:** + Good vision, including the ability to discriminate one color from another, is critical. A person who sees normally with the help of glasses or contact lenses may still qualify. **Special Requirements:** + Paramedics are subject to preplacement medical screening for healthcare professionals, periodic medical screening and clinical evaluation which may include evaluation of ability to wear a respirator. **Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy** The company is an equal opportunity employer.
