Job Title:                                Produce Clerk II

Reports To:                           Produce Department Manager

 

Maintains stock levels in the produce department by replenishing products as needed. Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests.

 

Produce Associates provide a high standard of care to quality, nutritious fruits and vegetables to ensure they are fresh & delicious for the families within our communities.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)  Provides customer service to guests

Assist guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floorTakes orders and other special requestsAnswers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquetteAddresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received, if in need further assistance, bring concern to the Produce Department Manager

2) Stocking and maintaining product levels

Fill all items on displayMakes sure products are rotated, using first in first out methodFollow display standardsMakes sure the sales floor is clean and tidy; no messes or spillsMaintaining Produce supplies (i.e. roll bags, twist ties, etc.)

3) Log Sheets

Take temperatures of everything regularlyFill out rotation sheets dailyRecord shrink daily

4)  Maintain Produce Cooler

Rotation of items within the cooler, first in-first out methodKeeping the cooler clean and organized at all times

5) Product Order

Responsible for ordering some product (i.e. dips, spices, herbs, etc.)

Other duties as assigned.

Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, balerKnowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions
