Our flagship transitional work program– Ready, Willing & Able– integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society.

The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400+.

We are seeking a Full Time Resident Manager for The Doe Fund’s newest permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents’ independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. This 98-unit residence will provide housing for 49 individuals referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), and the rest 49 units will be apartments for moderate-income households.

The Resident Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residents and the overall operation of the facility during designated shifts. S/he will work collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure that resident needs are being met as well as the safety of the facility. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills along with experience working with the HIV/AIDS population.

The shifts that we are looking to cover are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 4:00 pm to 12:00 am OR 12:00 am to 8:00 am.

Key Responsibilities:

Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff Collaborate with the security staff during his/her tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents Perform hourly patrols through the facility Manage any challenging situations and crises that may occur at the facility Responsible for handling any incidents that may arise in the facility and completing an Incident Report form as needed Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team, as well as document them in the appropriate logbook Attend all mandatory staff meetings Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNY Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate:

High School diploma or GED, some college preferred Fire Safety certification is preferred (F-02 or F-80) At least two years of experience working in a social service, residential setting The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness Ability to work independently Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Computer skills – internet  and Microsoft Office
