Full Time Sleep Technologist
Join our team as a Full Time Sleep Technologist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and sleep health. In this registered position, you will work under the direct supervision of the lead sleep technologist, collaborating closely with department administration and medical management. As a Sleep Technologist, you will perform essential functions for both in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, provide therapeutic interventions, and educate patients about their sleep health. If you are passionate about improving lives through quality sleep care, we want to hear from you! **Responsibilities:** + Preparation: Review patient charts, testing orders, and ensure proper identification. + Setup: Apply electrodes and sensors per AASM guidelines, explaining procedures to patients. + Procedure Execution: Conduct in-center and out-of-center sleep studies, focusing on quality and patient care. + Analysis: Analyze and score sleep studies. + Maintenance: Clean equipment and rooms, perform routine maintenance, and manage inventory of lab supplies. + Competency: Maintain scoring competency by completing monthly AASM ISR requirements. + Compliance: Adhere to department policies and perform other assigned duties. + HS graduate and graduate from an education program in polysomnography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) preferred with sleep credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT), the National Board of Respiratory Care (CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST). **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) OR Registered Polysomnographic Technologist OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) + Act 34 **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
