VCA Fort Collins Animal Hospital located in Fort Collins Colorado is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant who enjoys practicing advanced medicine with a cohesive, tenured team.
This position is full-time with approximately four 10 hour shifts a week, compensation is based on on experience and starts at a minimum of $16/hr (with minimal experience). The ideal candidate for this position would be efficient in blood draws, patient restraint, communicating with clients, with RX identification/filling, has some experience capturing full-body radiographs, comfortable at SQ injections, a team player, good communication skills, and is willing to advance their skills through offered learning opportunities.
Our GP/Urgent Care small animal hospital is AAHA accredited and practices gold-standard medicine. We offer routine and medical concern exams, general vaccinations, in-house laboratories (CBC, chemistry, 4DX SNAP tests, FeLV/FIV tests, UA, etc.), advanced and routine send-out diagnostics through Antech, domestic and international health certification, onsite ultrasound, digital radiographs, and PennHIP certification. Our hospital offers surgical procedures such OHE, neuter, gastropexy, splenectomy, foreign body removal, cystotomy, and more. Our dental services are always performed under gas anesthesia and include: ultrasonic cleaning/polishing, full-mouth digital radiographs, complete dental charting, bonding and extractions when indicated.
For more advanced dental procedures, we partner with a board-certified small animal dentists to complete these cases in hospital. We also work with two board-certified radiologists for more advanced ultrasound diagnostics; such as, abdominal/thoracic ultrasound and echocardiograms. Additionally, we work with two mobile board-certified internal medicine doctors for in-house endoscopy for retrieval of gastric foreign bodies, rhinoscopy, endotracheal washes, bronchoscopy +/- bronchoalveolar lavage, as well as, other services.

This position pays $16.00 - $20.00, dependent on experience, education, certification, etc.
