SUMMARY
The Vocational Specialist is a member of the PROS clinical team whose primary function is to provide on going assessment and support to PROS members enrolled in the ORS component with off-site employment visits and individual employment counseling. Additionally, the Vocational Specialist provides employment services to PROS members enrolled in other service components who are in various stages of employment preparedness. The vocational specialist provides a key role in the PROS program, providing services that help eliminate barriers to competitive employment. Services could include and are not limited to: job preparedness, job development and benefits counseling.

ATTRIBUTES
Bachelors degree in Human Service Field, Business or related field required. Masters degree preferred.One to two years of job development, Talent Acquisition, training specialist or case management experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Valid NYS drivers licenseRESPONSIBILITIES
Treatment. Participates as a contributing full member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Works in collaboration with Team Leader/LPHA on clinical needs of assigned caseload. Provides PROS members with employment counseling, advocating services, benefit counseling (Social Services, Social Security, Medicaid).Assessment. Facilitates assessments and individual recovery plans (IRP’s) development with PROS participants. Provides vocational assessments, psychiatric rehabilitation assessments. Participants on assigned caseload have clearly defined recovery goals (i.e., employment).Communication. Collaborates and communicates with primary care providers and multidisciplinary team as appropriate and documents contacts in participant’s record. Participates in and incorporates professional supervision and education into practice. Promotes and demonstrates good communication and team work through participation in daily staff meetings, case conferences and team meetings.Job Development. Network Through Industry Contacts, Association Memberships, Trade Groups and Employees. Locate and document employers who relationships have been established in hiring PROS participants. Communicate with team members and PROS Participants regularly to share lead, opportunities, and new relationships with employers. Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings.EDUCATION:
