Fullfillment Line Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Night Shift Fulfillment Line Leader will lead, direct, and coordinate the operations of the Surge team, ensuring smooth transitions between the day and night shifts. This role is responsible for achieving daily SQDIP goals and fostering a team-oriented environment. The Line Leader will ensure effective cross-shift communication, maintaining continuity between shifts to support product availability, quality, and timely delivery. They will provide guidance to the night shift team, address challenges, and collaborate with the day shift to ensure consistent operations in alignment with company objectives, core values, and shared purpose.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

· Cross-Shift Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for communication between the day and night shifts. Ensure that any issues, updates, or priorities from the day shift are clearly communicated to the night shift and vice versa.

· Team Development: Foster an engaging work environment where night shift team members can develop their skills, contributing to both individual career growth and alignment with business needs.

· Night Shift Operations: Plan and manage night shift activities to meet customer demand, ensure high-quality standards, and achieve timely delivery, while following FIFO principles. Communicate production, material, quality, delivery, and equipment issues to the team and escalate to appropriate departments as needed.

· Leading Through Obstacles: Take charge and lead the team through any obstacles or challenges that may arise during the night shift. Provide timely solutions, direction, and support to ensure the team can overcome issues and continue to meet performance and quality goals.

· Performance Management: Achieve hourly scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the night shift, including safety, quality, on-time delivery, inventory, and productivity. Provide continuous feedback and support to the team to ensure high performance.

· Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts by applying lean principles and best practices during the night shift. Collaborate with day shift leaders to implement improvements and ensure consistency across shifts.

· Clear Communication: Provide concise written and verbal communication to both the night shift team and day shift leadership to ensure smooth operations, problem-solving, and meeting of operational needs.

· Operational Support: Act as a key contributor in day-to-day operations as a fulfillment technician to support team activities and uphold standard work practices 

Team Performance Monitoring: Oversee team member performance during the night shift, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and expected behaviors. Contribute feedback to the Fulfillment Supervisor regarding team and individual performance for formal evaluations.

· Standard Work and Lean Principles: Ensure strict adherence to standard work procedures, use of playbooks, work instructions, and lean principles. Perform total preventative maintenance (TPM) and uphold a high-quality, 5S environment throughout the night shift.

· Advocate for the Team: Act as an active listener for feedback from team members and advocate resolutions to any concerns or conflicts, ensuring a healthy and productive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Work Traits (Required):

· Knowledge of ISC Support Systems: Familiarity with ISC support systems such as Oracle, JIRA, ServiceDesk, and Windchill. Ability to navigate these platforms and submit tickets for issue resolution, ensuring smooth operational support and tracking of any system-related challenges. Strong organizational and planning skills to achieve goals while demonstrating flexibility to manage changes in plans and objectives between shifts.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and develop a night shift team.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across shifts and departments.

· Proven ability to drive continuous improvement efforts and manage change during night shift operations.

· Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Skills & Work Traits (Preferred):

· Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Lead Assembler, or in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or production environment.

· Experience in a lean manufacturing environment and familiarity with best practices.

In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.

· Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365.

· Formal leadership training or degree.

Technical Competencies:

· Knowledge of Industrial Scientific products, services, and applications.

· Experience with Oracle eBS or similar enterprise systems.

· Attention to detail, with the ability to inspect, identify, and resolve non-conformities during the night shift.

Education:

· Associate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
