Overview The Functional Medicine Dietician is responsible for the direct nutritional assessment, interview, planning, goal setting and documentation of the patient’s nutritional care as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with Recommended Dietary Allowance and scientific principles in a variety of disease conditions. The Functional Medicine Department is centered on Integrative care, performance medicine, prevention and wellness rooted in the belief that lifestyle medicine can reduce the risk of disease. As a Registered Dietician this role provides comprehensive nutritional counseling and guidance to patients helping them to achieve their health and wellness goals. You will collaborate closely with the team physicians assisting patients with creating personalized nutrition plans that may include but not be limited to Mediterranean, low FODMAP, gluten-free, dairy free, elimination and anti-inflammatory diets. The role responds appropriately to the special needs of each patient served specific to age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, developmental or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities. Job Details Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics. Master’s degree approved by the American Dietetic Association preferred. Current RD credential Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Registered Dietician, preferably in a medical office environment. Functional Medicine/Integrative Medicine nutrition training preferred Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel) Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough 1:1 assessments of patients nutritional needs, medical history, and lifestyle factors to develop personalized nutritional plans. Provide evidence based nutrition coaching and education to patients, addressing their specific wellness concerns and goals using a collaborative approach Monitor patients progress and make necessary adjustments to their nutritional plans, ensuring they are on track to achieve desired outcomes. Provide guidance and support to patients in implementing sustainable eating habit changes, including meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking strategies and general health coaching principles. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments and interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Stay up to date with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and lifestyle medicine incorporating new finding into practice. Facilitate small group presentations and create educational materials for patients Collaborate with team members such as physicians, nurses, health coaches to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings and wellness initiatives. Demonstrates knowledge of drug and nutrient interaction Incorporates patient’s cultural and religious needs into plan of care Educates patients on weight loss and cardiometabolic conditions Salary Range USD $37.85 - USD $54.88 /Hr.
