Functional Safety Principle Engineer

Summary

As a Principle Functional Safety Engineer, you will be working in a collaborative environment to guide development of functional safety for control systems of Oshkosh Vehicles. In this role you will develop and implement safety architectures, concepts, and applications for electric vehicles (EV) and advance drive assist system (ADAS) projects. Additionally, you will help mentor other functional safety members in the development of their functional safety work products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design and develop functional safety plans, concepts, and architecture for vehicle control systemsDrive supplier delivery of safety work products and integration of their components into the vehicle safety conceptPreform safety related analysis such as HARA, FMEA, and FTADrive standardization of application-level safety software architectures, best practices, and test guidelinesMentor team members in functional safety and its implementation

Basic Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, computer, software, systems, or equivalent engineering degree3+ years experience in functional safety or implementation of safety softwareExperienced with standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or MIL-STD-882EUnderstanding of vehicle control system design and development processAble to work across multiple technical disciplines and rolesExperienced with JIRA, DOORS, Magic Draw or other software system design toolsSupport occasional travel around 10% of time  

Pay Range:

$89,500.00 - $140,500.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
