We are seeking a skilled Functional QA Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing the functionality of applications, ensuring that software products meet the required standards, specifications, and customer expectations. As a Functional QA Analyst, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business team and other QA professionals to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Functional Testing: Execute functional test cases to ensure that software functions as expected under various scenarios.Test Planning, Test Strategy & Documentation: Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test strategy and test cases based on product requirements and functional specifications.Defect Management: Identify, report, and track defects using bug-tracking tool ALM. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.Regression Testing: Perform regression tests to ensure that new software features or bug fixes do not impact existing functionality.Test Automation: Assist with automation initiatives by identifying repetitive test scenarios and working with the automation team to implement automation scripts.Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test cases.Test Case Optimization: Continuously review and optimize test cases to improve efficiency and test coverage.Cross-Platform Testing: Test applications across various browsers, operating systems, and devices (when applicable).User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Assist in UAT execution by ensuring that the application meets business requirements and functionality expectations.Reporting: Provide regular test progress reports, identifying risks and issues to stakeholders.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and best practices within the team.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).3+ years of experience in functional testing, ideally in an agile development environment.Testing Tools: Experience with common functional testing tools ALM or JIRA.Manual Testing: Proficient in writing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases based on requirements and functional specifications.Mobile Testing: Experience testing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms (manual and automated testing).Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with various testing phases (unit, integration, system, acceptance testing).Automation Testing (Selenium): Experience with test automation tools like Selenium is a plus and highly desirable. Experience in automating functional test cases will be considered a strong advantage.API Testing: Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI.Database Testing: Experience with database querying (SQL) for validating data in functional tests.Cross-Platform Testing: Familiarity with testing across various platforms (Web, Mobile, etc.).Knowledge of Agile Testing: Knowledge of Agile testing methodologies, continuous integration (CI), and test-driven development (TDD) practices.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and timelines.Kemper is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
