Functional Tester
Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Functional Tester to work for our company. Summary: + Client Agency is Department of Homeland Security. + Oversees all aspects of quality assurance testing including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure test goals and deadlines are met. + Develops and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated). + Supports an agile development environment with frequent deployments to production. + Works closely with Architects, Developers, and PMs to define testing strategies. + Collaborates with project team members on requirements specifications for test plan creation and execution. + Plans, documents, and reviews regression testing on system application monthly for deployment preparation + Manages/communicates test initiative level of efforts and progress with stories + Develops smoke tests, positive/negative tests, performance analysis, and reliability testing as needed. + Provides quality metrics and expert insight into the health of the software. + Uses appropriate quality tools and infrastructure to scale and manage testing effort. + Enhances and improve our testing methodology for better results, increased productivity, and higher quality. Requirements: + Must be able to successfully complete a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) and obtain a Public Trust Level 5 - (Moderate Risk level) clearance. Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies, and drug-free in accordance with DHS policies. + Bachelors in Technical or Business field + Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the Testing/QA field. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions. + Ability to understand business needs and translate them into test cases and test scenarios. + Expertise in various forms of software testing: functional and non-functional testing - Integration, System, Regression, and End to End testing. + Experience implementing testing strategies and leading the testing effort within agile and waterfall development processes. Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and frequent release cycles. + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. + Must be willing and able to go on-site in Washington, DC for fingerprinting, badging, and on-boarding. Preferred: + Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium. + Experience with Atlassian Tools (JIRA & Confluence). + Experience with ServiceNow. + Knowledge/Experience with DHS 508 Compliance Testing Standards and ANDI tools. + Located in the Washington, DC / Virginia / Maryland area.
